Suspect Arrested For Threatening Email” To Hamden High Staff

Hamden police arrested a 21-year-old New Haven woman Tuesday morning after she allegedly sent threatening emails to Hamden High School staff a day earlier.

Three Hamden High School staff members received a threatening email around 10 a.m. The Hamden High administration received a similar email about an hour later, according to a Hamden police press release.

The suspect is a temporarily contracted employee at the school. When Detective Joseph Liguori interviewed her, she confessed to having sent the emails. She said she wanted students to leave early.”

The school went into lock out” procedures after the receipt of the threat on Monday, and dismissed at the regularly scheduled time.

The suspect is scheduled to appear in front of Meriden Superior Court on Jan. 25, and is currently held on a $100,000 bond.
