Patricia L. Simon, 75

Patricia L. Simon, 75, of New Haven, entered eternal rest on July 4, 2018.

Patricia was the widow of Hubert Simon. She was born in Winston-Salem, N.C. on Jan. 19, 1943, a daughter of the late Raymond and Francine Miller.

She worked at Yale for 48 years as a manager in the technical services department at the Sterling Memorial Library. She was a member of Promise Land Church of God where she sang in the choir.

Patricia leaves to cherish loving memories, a son, Hubert Berkeley; a daughter, Shayla Byrd (Kenyatta); brothers, Richard B. Miller and Michael E. Miller (Cheryl); sisters, Barbara M. Lash, Marlene M. Howard and Frances E. Townsend (Terry); six grandchildren, Shanice, Alisha, Brandon and Jeshanah Berkeley and Kennedy and Zoe Byrd; a great-grandchild, Chelsey Berkeley; and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond P. Miller.

A celebration of Mrs. Simon’s life and legacy will be held Saturday, July 14, 2018, at 9 a.m. at Promise Land Church of God, 240 Burwell Rd., West Haven. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Viewing and visitation will be held at the church Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. Professional services entrusted to Curvin K. Council Funeral Home, 128 Dwight St., New Haven.
