Alberta Moye, 90 years old, of New Haven, departed this life Sunday, April 5, 2020. She was born in Ayden, NC, on July 19, 1929, to Huirles L. Moye, Sr. and Helena Moye.
Prior to retiring, Alberta was employed by the US Government. She lived the majority of her life in Washington D.C. and moved to New Haven in 2010 to be closer to her family.
She is survived by her granddaughter, Sandi Garcia (Ricardo); great-grandchildren, Lileona Garcia and Ricardo Garcia III; brothers, Walter Earl (Lily Mae) Moye and Kelly Bruce (Helen) Moye; sisters, Gaytha Bush and Betty Newborn; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. She was predeceased by son, Joseph K Moye; brothers, Huirles L Moye, Jr. and Thelbert Moye; and sisters, Ruby Moye and Mildred Slaughter.
A celebration of Ms. Moye’s life and legacy will be held Monday April 13, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Howard K Hill Funeral Services, 1287 Chapel St, New Haven. A drive by viewing will be held at the funeral home from 11:00 – 11:30 AM. Burial will be in Beaverdale Memorial Park, New Haven.
