Alphonso Lilly Jr., age 86 from New Haven, CT, entered eternal rest on Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2024. Alphonso was born in New London, NC on Oct. 19, 1937.
He is predeceased by his parents Alphonso Sr., and Katherine Lilly; his wife Helen Drye Lilly; and his two sons, Elton and Johnny Lilly.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, sister Barbara Jean Gibson; six children, Jeffery Lilly, Gloria Lilly, Sharon L. (Bobby) Sullivan, Alphonso Lily III, Deborah Abdul, and Wayne Lilly; grandchildren, Georgiana, Jeffery Jr., Pauly, Kim, Shana, William Jr., Shaniece, LaShonda (Robert Fluitt), Bobby Jr. (Joniqua Sullivan), Devon, Tavis, Alnae, Alphonso, Victoria, Terrance, and Johnny Jr.; and eighteen great-grandchildren.
To our grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, brother, and friend, we will forever miss you, your laugh, your jokes, and your kindness. You will forever live in our thoughts and our hearts.
