Carl McElya of 264 Munson Street, New Haven left this Earth November 22, 2010 after a long illness. He was employed by Yale University and served in the National Guard. He leaves to mourn his passing, Rhea Gordneer; children, Carl II, Kelly and Jasmine; granddaughter, Sonia; sisters, Emma Cash of NC and Lavern Bethea of New Haven, a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, the late Rev. Ann T. McElyn and Marvel McElya; siblings, Dianna, Cynthia, Juanita, John, Kenneth, and daughter, Carlisha. A celebration of his life will take place Tuesday November 30, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Howard K. Hill Funeral Services, 1287 Chapel Street New Haven.
