Carlton Eugene Pittman

Elder Carlton Eugene Pittman of New Haven was born on December 8, 1960 in Enfield, North Carolina.

Carlton spent his formative years there. He attended Scotland Neck High School in Scotland Neck, North Carolina. Elder Pittman relocated to New Haven in 2000.

Carlton began his lifelong spiritual journey at an early age. He attended Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in North Carolina where he began preaching the word of God. He then became a member of Morning Star Baptist Church, located in Rocky Mount, North Carolina. Carlton was ordained an Elder while he worshiped at Morning Star.

Anyone who was ever blessed enough to hear Carlton preach fondly remembers that he would begin by saying, I don’t want you to be glad twice, glad to see me get up and glad to see me sit down.” His sense of humor is one of the many things those who knew him well will miss.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving mother, Dorothy Pittman Bryant; siblings, Jesse Pittman, Jr., Tabitha Pittman, Miguel Pittman (Sandra), George Thorne and Jequetta Thorne; special aunt, Luella Wright; uncle, Charles Wright; cousin, Virginia Wright-Younger; godmother, Evangelist Claudette Mays; in addition to a host of relatives and friends.
