DeShawn (Shawn) Toray Evans, 25, of New Haven, passed away on Nov. 18, 2016.
He was born in New Haven to Tanisha Evans and DeMarcus Ware on Sept. 20, 1991. Shawn graduated from Eli Whitney where he became certified in drafting and was attending Full Sale University. He was employed at Schick through the Adecco Agency. Shawn was a member of Life Changing Outreach Ministries under the leadership of Pastor Lisa Gray, where he was a choir member and musician.
Shawn was also an advent DJ better known as DJ Diddy Grey. Deshawn was a member of Rosette City, World Adventures, and an active model for InterFace Modeling Agency.
Deshawn leaves behind to cherish his memories, his mother, Tanisha Evans; brothers, Jamali Ford and Dairwood “B.J.” Vereen; sister, Gianni Vereen; maternal grandparents, Linda (Ernest) Evans-Willis and Elwood (Gloria) Srowro; maternal great-grandmothers, Louise Evans and Agatha Gray; god brother, Antwan Madden; close friend, Daren Cogswell; and a host of relatives and friends.
A celebration of life will take place Nov. 28, 2016 at 11 a.m. at the New Trinity Temple C.O.G.I.C, 285 Dixwell Ave, New Haven, CT 06511.
