
Jimmie (James) Johnson, 77, of New Haven, departed this life November 7, 2013, after a long painful illness due to complication of Diabetes.
He was the husband of Lola Johnson. He was born in Greenville, NC, August 31, 1936; he was the son of the late Leon Duncan and Linola Johnson Smith. Mr. Johnson was a Gourmet Chef for numerous years at various restaurants in the New Haven area. He was also a photographer and loved music especially Jazz, almost to a perfection. His friends remember him as Jim and they could always count on a good meal, coffee and music; perhaps a picture or two. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, James Johnson; daughters, Dr. Roni Johnson Deluz, Carolyn Johnson, Lenora Robinson (Larry) and Minister Jamie Harper (James); 14 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
