Joseph Springfield, 68, of New Haven, went home to be with the Lord on Feb. 20, 2017.
He was the loving husband of Anita Springfield.
Joseph was born in Chicago, IL on May 14, 1948, the son of Mary Tompkins of Chicago. He was a two-tour Vietnam veteran, serving in the U.S. Army. He was employed at Popeye’s for over 20 years. Joseph leaves to cherish his memory, 8 children; 16 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
A celebration of Mr. Springfield’s life and legacy will be held Feb. 28, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, 26 Edwards St., Hamden. Viewing will be held at the church from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.. Burial will be private. Professional services entrusted to Curvin K. Council Funeral Home, 128 Dwight St., New Haven.
