Leanna Moore, 89, of New Haven, departed this life November 15, 2010.
Born in Roanoke, VA, April 13, 1921, she was a daughter of the late John and Mary Moore.
Prior to retiring, she was employed at St. Regis Health Care Center as a Certified Nurse’s Assistant.
Ms. Moore was a member of St. Matthew’s UFWB Church.
She is survived by a daughter, Deborah J. Powell; a sister, Frances Younger; a granddaughter, Patrice Sanders (Brian Sams); a great granddaughter, Jasmine Sams (Hakeem Webster); and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by brothers, Bill, Jack, Thomas, Daniel and Darnell Moore; and a sister, Martha Taylor.
A celebration of Ms. Moore’s life and legacy will be held Saturday, November 20, 2010, at 9:00 AM at St. Matthew’s UFWB Church, 400 Dixwell Ave., New Haven. Viewing and visitation will be held at the church from 8:00 – 9:00 AM. Burial will be in Beaverdale Memorial Park. Professional services entrusted to Curvin K.
