May Ellis, 84, of New Haven, departed this life January 10, 2011. He was the husband of Dollie Ellis.
Born in Lloyd, FL, August 29, 1926, he was the son of the late Joe and Ginnie Ellis.
Prior to retiring, he was employed at Schiavone Co. as a Crane Operator.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons, Willie Joe, Bennie and Bobbie Ellis; a daughter, Mary Ellis; twenty-three grandchildren; and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by ten brothers, three sisters and three grandchildren.
A celebration of Mr. Ellis’ life and legacy will be held Saturday, January 15, 2011, at 9:00 AM at Curvin K. Council Funeral Home, 128 Dwight St., New Haven.
