Robert “Smiley” McCown Sr., 65, of New Haven, passed away Dec. 9.
He was born in Hemingway, S.C. to the late Dave McCown Jr. and Allie Fare Lewis on March 25, 1952. He was a retired truck driver for Blakeslee and a dedicated member of Beulah Heights First Pentecostal Church.
Robert leaves to cherish his memory, loving wife, Doris Edwards McCown; sons, Robert S. McCown Jr. and Latari A. McCown; daughters, Tonia McCown, Sarah McCown, and Caddalina McCown; sister, Shirley McCown-Taylor; four grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his brother, Larry McCown.
A celebration of his life will take place Monday at 11 a.m. at Beulah Heights First Pentecostal Church, 782 Orchard St, New Haven 06511. Friends may call Monday at the church from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Interment will be at Beaverdale Memorial Park, New Haven. Services by Howard K.
