
Rosie Lee Ampley, 89, of New Haven, departed this life July 25, 2011. She was the widow of Willie Ampley, Sr.
Born in Robersonville, NC, January 30, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Roosevelt Hines and Leora Bellamy.
She was employed at Majestic Laundry and was later employed at Arden House Care Center as a Certified Nurse’s Aide.
She is survived by her son, Willie L. Ampley (Brenda); a brother, William Stancil (Shirley); seven grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; fourteen great-great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Emanuel “Julio” Stancil; and a grandchild.
A celebration of Mrs. Ampley’s life and legacy will be held Saturday, July 30, 2011, at 9:00 A.M. at St. Paul UAME Church, 1267 Chapel St., New Haven. Viewing and visitation will be held at the church from 8:00 – 9:00 A.M. Burial will be in Beaverdale Memorial Park. Professional services entrusted to Curvin K.
