Sammy enjoyed traveling with the United House of Prayer, fishing, riding his bike, and cars. Most of all he loved his personal travels and spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren.

Additionally, he served as both a Deacon and Male Usher.

Since 1997, Sammy was a proud member of King Solomon Masonic Lodge, where he initially served as Tyler and later achieved the esteemed rank of 32nd Degree Mason. Throughout his long career at Yale University, he made a lasting impact before his retirement.

His unwavering kindness left a lasting impression on everyone he encountered, and his zest for life will never be forgotten. The legacy of love, compassion, and vitality he leaves behind will continue to inspire all who have the privilege of knowing him.

In addition to his parents, Sammy was preceded in death by two brothers, Michael D. Anderson and Russell D. Anderson; and one sister, Yolanda Regina Robinson-Good.
