Travis Washington Jr., 17, of New Haven, departed this life June 25. He was shot to death; his case spurred much soul-searching in New Haven.
Born in New Haven on March 30, 1994, he was the son of Virginia Williams (Todd) and Travis Washington.
In addition to his parents and stepfather, he is survived by sisters Tavonne, Teagan and Jac’queline Williams and Alyssa Washington; brothers Benjamin Washington and Otis Powell; a niece, Brittani Williams; his grandparents, Glenn and Beverly Washington; and a host of other relatives and friends.
The funeral service will be held Friday, July 8, at 2 p.m. at Bethel AME Church, 255 Goffe St. Viewing and visitation will be held at the church from 1 – 2 p.m. Burial will be private.
