2021 New Haven Election Results

Twelve thousand nine hundred and eighty New Haveners cast ballots in Tuesday’s mayoral election, 23 percent of all registered voters in town.

They elected Democrats, and only Democrats, to the mayor’s and city clerk’s office, an open Board of Education seat, and all 30 slots on the Board of Alders.

The Registrar of Voters office Friday released a breakdown of the ward-by-ward vote in every race. Click here to review the full spreadsheet.

With absentee ballot votes added to Tuesday night’s machine count, Democratic Mayor Justin Elicker ended up collecting 10,767 votes, or 83 percent of the total, to win reelection against Republican John Carlson, who received 1,727 votes; and Independent Mayce Torres, who collected 166.
