3 Shot Over Weekend

New Haven police responded to three shootings over the weekend.

The third, which occurred on Davenport Avenue between Baldwin and Elliot Streets Sunday at 9:08 p.m., caused the most serious reported injuries, according to police spokesperson Officer Scott Shumway. A 27-year-old New Haven man who was shot, apparently multiple times, is listed in critical but stable” condition at Yale New Haven Hospital, where his arrival Sunday evening reportedly led to a temporary lockdown.

The first reported shooting occurred on Sherman Avenue between Whalley Avenue and Percival Street Friday night at 10:38. The victim, a 34-year-old New Haven man is listed in stable condition at the hospital, Shumway reported.

So is a 43-year-old New Haven man who was shot on Hazel Street between Winchester Avenue and Newhall Street Saturday at 3:03 a.m.
