$8,358 in six weeks.

Retired police Sgt. Shafiq Abussabur has reported raising that amount of money in the first phase of his campaign to become Ward 28’s next alder.

Abdussabur, a Democrat, is looking to unseat incumbent Democratic Alder Jill Marks. Read more about the campaign here and here.

The contributions came from over 70 donors. The list reflects the diverse racial, ethnic and religious make-up of the ward; it also includes both police-accountability activists and retired cops Abdussabur has worked with as both a police officer and policymaker (he co-designed the city’s street oureach program) and in various community-organizing and activist roles he has taken on over the years.

Here’s who donated how much to the campaign so far. [This link will take you to a pdf of the spreadsheet
