Booker T. Washington Teacher Arrested On Sexual Assault Charges

Glad to see the word "allegedly" used in the article. Innocent till proven guilty; unless you are a teacher . Then, you are guilty till proven innocent but fired anyway

Parents and school officials, as well as any place that conducts activities for children, have to be aware by now that predators establish themselves as respectable authority figures, select vulnerable children to groom and then exploit these children for their own selfish satisfaction.
This is nothing new. What is new is our awareness of these patterns.
No one is above suspicion.
Trust your gut and listen to your children.
Our first job as adults is to keep the children safe.

Amistad High School should be held accountable this doesn’t happen if they properly report her misconduct at the high school and middle s hook. She had the same thing happen and they hid it and reassigned her. How can they not be held accountable. I would really close the doors to
All achievementfirst first schools. This is unacceptable and makes me furious.

Why isn't the accused teacher being named?

Wedeserve this has nothing to do with Amistad. Booker T. Washington is not an Amistad school.

There needs to be more checks and balances to prevent this type of predatory crime from happening with educators. With texting and the internet, it is too easy for educators and coaches and other adults who supervise and educate children to have unsupervised and unregulated access to them outside of the normal hours of their workplace where they encounter children. And more needs to be done to screen these adults before they are hired and ongoing after they are employed to protect children from predators.

@Carl - I’m sorry but achievement first does have blame here. This teacher taught at amistad high and was let go after she had some kind of similar interactions with students. then they picked her up at amistad middle. who knows why they did that when they knew there was a problem. and then I guess no one told booker t that this teacher also had issues.

Not the first in Connecticut, more and more of these stories pop up monthly. Question, have teachers moved ahead of the Priesthood on the police blotters?

She went from Amistad High School to Amistad Middle school to BTW school. Had AF reported her when allegations popped up at AHS, this wouldn’t have happened.
