Chalk It Up To Great Teachers

The following item was submitted about Teacher Appreciation Week.

Students and their parents at the Worthington Hooker Middle and Elementary schools gave a big thumbs up to their teachers using creative chalk designs to show their appreciation for their teachers’ hard work and dedication.

The student artists covered the sidewalks, stairs and even the buildings of their schools with messages of appreciation in honor of their favorite teachers or members of the schools’ support team. Students wrote messages in various languages, they drew flowers, butterflies, stars, and each teacher was shown how much they care with a portion of the sidewalk dedicated to them.

Students learned from local meteorologists that rain was on the way.…but, that did not stop them from using their skills. The rain may have washed away some of the messages and designs but, it did not wash away their school spirit as they celebrated this very special week in honor of our teachers!

This event was organized by volunteers of the PTA’s Community Engagement Team.
