We need another term for those freed after wrongful convictions. "Second Chancers"implies that they messed up once, but were given a second chances. This term would apply to some of Taubes's clients who did, in fact, commit horrible crimes, but had their sentences commuted. The folks you are speaking of here, in contrast, never committed a crime, at least not the one for which they were sentenced. Put in terms of chances, they never got one even fair chance, because the State cheated them of a fair trial.
