Dead Body Found In The Quinnipiac River

Police are still trying to identify a dead body found floating in the Quinnipiac River in Fair Haven Sunday afternoon.

City police spokesperson Capt. Rose Dell sent out an email press release about that investigation Monday morning.

She wrote that, on Sunday at around 4 p.m., city police responded to Front Street on the report of a body floating in the Quinnipiac River.

The New Haven Fire Department recovered the body, which was pronounced deceased on the scene by a paramedic.”

She wrote that the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner arrived on scene in Fair Haven and transported the deceased to Farmington. No identification has been made at this time, and the investigation is ongoing,” Dell wrote. The New Haven Police Department is working diligently to determine the identity of the deceased and the circumstances surrounding their death.”

Police urge anyone with information about the incident to come forward and assist.
