Mayor Tests Positive For Covid

New Haven Mayor Justin Elicker is working from home after testing positive Monday evening for Covid-19.

Mayoral spokesperson Lenny Spieller said Elicker was feeling under the weather” but well enough to work from home.

Despite working long hours around the clock and meeting with people and attending meetings and events throughout town since the onset of the pandemic three years ago, Elicker had been able to avoid contracting the virus himself — until now.

He stated in a Facebook post Tuesday that he is fully vaccinated and boosted.

I’ll be following CDC protocols and working from home in the coming days, and I appreciate everyone’s well wishes,” Elicker wrote.

His Monday events included this Dixwell press conference and an event with the governor and other mayors about gun control.
