Art in a Luxury Hotel is not a 'non-traditional setting'... it is an exclusive one.
Artist-in-Residence is always a misnomer.. Are there free hotel rooms in the deal?

As you should know, over time 'organisms' evolve.... The 'art organism' at work in this town is something being manufactured in a laboratory, not growing natural from the 'natural pool of talent' that already exists here.

As with most thing 'in the arts world' these days, things aren't quite what they seem, especially when corporate interests and Yale Connections are concerned.

I would be thrilled to find out the Polly's Program is something other than that,
but I sure haven't heard anything about it, that is for sure!!!

ps. I have only been in an actual hotel room at The Duncan once, right before it was 'converted'.
I was the subject of a photo shoot for an MFA Photography Student's thesis show. Her boyfriend used me twice previously as a subject for his two thesis shows... I have both of those photos hanging in my house, but not the one at The Duncan.

So, that's a little proof that I am not averse to working 'across the aisle' in town/gown relations,
but 'the spirit' needs to be proper. All to often it is not.
