New Haven is offering in-person absentee-ballot voting opportunities this weekend.
That means you can show up in person and hand in an absentee ballot, to make sure it is received and counted; without braving the lines and possible Covid-19 exposure at the polls this coming Tuesday.
You can also show up without a ballot, fill out an application on the spot, receive a ballot on the spot, fill it out on the spot, and vote on the spot.
On Monday you can make an appointment to obtain and cast the ballot.

CT really needs to make early voting easier. Some states let you vote early in person starting 14 days before the election. At the very least, let's make the no-excuse absentee voting and the ballot drop boxes a permanent feature of elections.
The dream would be an integrated and secure vote by mail system like Florida or Oregon have, but realistically this will probably only happen incrementally.
