A 53-year-old New Havener named Arthur Taylor was struck and killed by a car Monday night while he was walking in the travel lanes of the I‑91 highway near Exit 9.
According to a press release and accident information summary put out by the state police, Taylor was “walking in the travel lanes of I‑91 northbound” in the area of Exit 9 in North Haven at around 9:15 p.m.
A 20-year-old driver from Stamford was traveling north on I‑91 in that same area at that same time.
The car “collided with the pedestrian,” sending Taylor flying “into the grass center median.” Taylor suffered fatal injuries from the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene.
No other injuries were reported, and the car was towed “due to disabling damage.”
I'm wondering if he was headed to or from the new homeless shelter motel? Isn't this what people were worried about happening in this location? How many more have to die before a thing can be done properly??
