City police found a dead body in East Rock Park Friday morning after an apparent suicide.
New Haven Police Department spokesperson Officer Scott Shumway told the Independent by email that police were dispatched to East Rock Park Friday at around 6:56 a.m. “for the report of a deceased person.”
“It appears to be a suicide,” he wrote.
But the police need to wait for the results of an autopsy before confirming, and before providing any further details.
What a terribly sad situation.
