A Lodge Street man suffered a life-threatening gunshot wound after a bullet flew through his kitchen window Sunday night.
That’s according to a Monday morning email press release sent out by New Haven Police Department spokesperson Capt. Rose Dell.
Dell wrote that, at around 10:15 p.m. Sunday, police received ShotSpotter alerts of 36 gunshots fired in the area of Level Street near Brookside Avenue. Shortly after that, officers responded to Lodge Street on the report of a person who had been shot.
Detectives learned that the victim “was sitting in the kitchen of his home when a bullet traveled through a window and struck him.” He suffered a “life-threatening gunshot wound” and is now in “critical but stable condition” after being transported to Yale New Haven Hospital.
The New Haven Police Department is asking for the public’s help in solving this incident.
