Former Mayor and State Sen. Toni Harp will be chair of the board of a new organization — Impact CT.

Impact CT is an Independent Expenditure Committee,” an organization that raises and spends money to support or oppose political candidates without coordinating with them directly, according to a release form the organization. Impact CT will focus on making Connecticut a more just, equitable State.” The organization will specifically prioritize affordable housing, healthcare, education, public safety, and transportation.”

In the release, Harp promised transparency from the organization, stating that all donors will be publicly disclosed. She said she hopes Impact CT will promote equity across the state, especially for historically marginalized peoples.

Harp is joined by three other board members: former Vice President of Bridgeport Ys and new Stamford Pacific House CEO and President Carmen Colon, former Commissioner of Housing Evonne Klein, and professor and researcher Dr. Jeffrey Ogbar.
