Tweed Flights Starting To Atlanta, Charlotte, Knoxville

New Haveners will be able to fly directly to Atlanta from Tweed New Haven Airport four times a week beginning May 2, as part of the of the latest expansion of flights.

Avelo Airlines announced four new destination cities Tuesday, bringing a total of 21 nonstop destinations it will fly to from Tweed.

The new destinations, besides Atlanta, are Charlotte, N.C., also beginning May 2; Destin, Fort Walton Beach, Florida, May 17; and Knoxville, Tenn., beginning May 9.

Avelo Airlines today announced it is expanding service from Southern Connecticut’s most convenient airport — Tweed-New Haven Airport (HVN) — to four new nonstop destinations: Atlanta; Charlotte, North Carolina; Knoxville, Tennessee; and Destin, Florida.

With the addition of these new routes, Avelo will serve 21 nonstop destinations from Tweed, offering more nonstop routes from Connecticut than any other airline operating in the state. 

Avelo will be the only airline offering nonstop service from Southern Connecticut to these four popular destinations. Additionally, Avelo is the only airline offering nonstop flights from Connecticut to Knoxville and Destin, and the only low-fare airline offering flights to Atlanta and Charlotte. 

All four routes begin in May 2024 and will operate on Boeing Next-Generation 737 aircraft. Introductory one-way fares start at $62*. Customers can make reservations at AveloAir.com.

    • Begins May 9, and operates twice weekly on Thursdays and Sundays
