Westville Music Bowl, Meet The Bowery Presents

A leading East Coast concert promoter has signed up to help book shows at the Westville Music Bowl, after teaming up with the local group that runs the ex-tennis stadium-turned-music venue.

According to an email press release sent out Tuesday morning by The Bowery Presents, AEG Presents, and Premier Concerts / Manic Presents, the Bowery Presents will work with Premier / Manic to book concerts at the Westville Music Bowl at 45 Yale Ave. starting in 2024.

“Mark Nussbaum and I have been developing artists from 100-cap spaces through a growing network of Connecticut venues. That network placed us firmly at the forefront of the return of live music in 2021, which gave us a glimpse into what we can do at scale,” Premier’s Keith Mahler is quoted as saying in that press release. ​“We are very excited to have The Bowery Presents partner with us on our next chapter promoting shows at Westville Music Bowl — you can expect big things from this collective powerhouse team.”

THE BOWERY PRESENTS ANNOUNCES BOOKING PARTNERSHIP TO PROGRAM NEW HAVEN’S WESTVILLE MUSIC BOWL

NEW YORK & NEW HAVEN, CT – September 19, 2023 – The Bowery Presents, the leading East Coast concert promoter and venue management company, announced today a new partnership with Premier Concerts / Manic Presents to book concerts at Westville Music Bowl in New Haven, CT starting with the 2024 season.

Located on Yale University’s athletic campus, Westville Music Bowl is a former tennis stadium opened in 1991 that played host to tennis tournaments for three decades before being retrofitted to a concert venue in 2021, with a scalable capacity from 9,700 down to 3,500. In addition to boygenius’ upcoming sold-out show on September 28, the venue has since hosted 60+ shows, including The National, Khruangbin, The Postal Service & Death Cab for Cutie, Bobby Weir & Wolf Bros, Trey Anastasio Band, Goose, John Mulaney, and Joe Russo’s Almost Dead.

Westville Music Bowl is the largest of Premier Concerts / Manic Presents’ venues in Connecticut, whose portfolio also includes College Street Music Hall, and Space Ballroom. The venue joins an esteemed roster of outdoor concert spaces that The Bowery Presents books throughout the East Coast, including Forest Hills Stadium in New York City, The Stage at Suffolk Downs in Boston, Thompson’s Point in Portland, ME, and Virginia Credit Union Live and Browns Island in Richmond, VA, alongside the company’s thousands of annual concert bookings in clubs, theatres and arenas across the region.
