One of the three men shot in Fair Haven Thursday has died from his wounds.
The man, Roberto Rivera, a 34-year-old Fair Havener, was shot at Lloyd and Exchange Streets Thursday around 2:30 p.m.
Police have classified the death as a homicide.
A 28-year-old Fair Havener who was shot in the hand has since been released from the hospital, as has a 20-year-old Waterbury man shot in the leg during the incident.
Police Chief Otoniel Reyes stressed Friday that “this was not a random act.”
“This was a targeted attack. We don’t feel it is going to lead to future violence,” he said. “We have significant leads we’re working on. “
Reyes said police will be “out in force” in the area this weekend.
This murder being a targeted act may mean that the suspect/s are known to police and by the people witnessing this crime. I hope so and believe that NHPD can solve this crime quickly. The person or persons responsible should be locked up forever.
