We can now close the books on the 2016 election — and find out how many votes each candidate in each election got in each ward of New Haven.
The registrar of voters office has released the official final results in their entirety, including races for state representative, state senator, U.S. Congress, and … registrar of voters.
And including not just overall totals, but results from each precinct.
Click here to review them in full.
Due to the extraordinarily large number of officially-registered Write-in candidates and the habitual tendency for some towns to not count such, if voters know that they cast a write-in for a candidate who was on the list of registered write-ins—but don't see a vote for that candidate in their voting district, then voters can file a complaint with the State Elections Enforcement Commission using this form: http://www.ct.gov/seec/lib/seec/ComplaintFormFilable.pdf
Note that if one casts a vote for someone who was NOT officially-registered with the state as a write-in OR if one did not follow the ballot's instructions re how to cast a write-in vote, then the vote was not counted.
>> This is the list of write-ins who were registered with the CT Secretary of State: http://www.ct.gov/sots/lib/sots/releases/2016/10-28-2016_-_registered_write-in.pdf
** As I am posting this on Friday morning, Nov. 18,
the Secretary of State site still shows the statewide results as "Unofficial": http://ctemspublic.pcctg.net/#/home
