Ada C. Raiford, 81, of New Haven, departed this life May 12, 2012.
She was the widow of Alphonso Raiford.
Born in Franklin, VA, July 20, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Bennie and Annie Catherine Chappelle Jenkins.
Prior to retiring, Mrs. Raiford was employed at Pratt & Whitney Aircraft Co. as a Machine Operator.
She was a member of Outreach for Christ Lifeline Center.
She is survived by daughters, Cynthia Chisolm, Vonnie McAuley (Ralph) and Sandra Barnes (William); a brother, Samuel Jenkins (Mamie); a sister, Verlessie Jackson; a special granddaughter, Bridget Chisolm; fifteen grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; a great-great grandchild; and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was predeceased by a brother, Bennie Jenkins.
A celebration of Mrs. Raiford’s life and legacy will be held Saturday, May 19, 2012, at 9:00 A.M. at the New Trinity Temple COGIC, 285 Dixwell Ave., New Haven. Viewing and visitation will be held at the church from 8:00 – 9:00 A.M. Burial will be in Beaverdale Memorial Park. Professional services entrusted to Curvin K.
