
David A. Durham, 54, of New Haven, departed this life on September 3, 2011.
Born in New Haven, CT on September 26, 1956, he was the son of the late Furman E. Little and Betty L. Durham.
He is survived by a daughter, Shawn Lee; a granddaughter, Destinee Middleton; sisters, Joyce (Jerry) Poole, Anita and Carol Durham, Shirley Townsend, and Dale, Michelle and Robin Little; brothers, Bobby Durham and Furman Little Collins, all of New Haven; and a host of aunts, nieces, nephews, family and friends.
He was predeceased by a brother, Furman E. Little, Jr.
He was a man of many talents, well-known in Newhallville as “Uncle Dave.” He was a private caterer and a familiar cook at many St. Elmo’s Society and Yale University events. He worked as a bartender for numerous establishments and served as a Park and Recreation Supervisor for more than 30 years.
A celebration of Mr. Durham’s life and legacy will be held Friday, September 9, 2011, at 11:00 A.M. at St. Matthew’s UFWB Church, 400 Dixwell Ave., New Haven. Viewing will be held at the church from 10:00 – 11:00 A.M. Burial will be in Beaverdale Memorial Park. Professional services entrusted to Curvin K. Council Funeral Home, 128 Dwight St., New Haven.
