Ronnie Cohen “Cornbread,” 56, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, October 27, 2010 at the Hospital of St. Raphael surrounded by his friends and family. Ronnie was born in Spartanburg, SC September 28, 1954 to the late Shirley Cohen and L.C. Cheeks. He was employed by the Grant Street Partnership as a Residential Aide. Ronnie is survived by his longtime friend and fiancé, Keisha Frederick of New Haven; sons, Rameek Gordon of VA, Ronnie Gordon and Zane Frederick both of New Haven; daughter, Amaia Graham of VA; his six grandchildren whom he dearly loved, Isaiah Brockington, Ronnjae, Ronique, Ronnie, Romel, and Romaine Gordan; uncles, Odell and Gary “Shotgun” Cohens, both of New Haven, Fred Cohen of New Haven, Donnell Cohen of Ohio, Jerry Cohen of New Haven and host of cousins and friends. A celebration of his life will take place Friday, November 5, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Friendship Baptist Church, 26 Edwards Street Hamden, CT 06517. Friends may call Friday at the church from 9 – 11:00 AM. Interment will take place in Beaverdale Memorial Park, New Haven.
