ZONING ORDINANCE MAP AMENDMENT (GRID #12) TO CHANGE THE DESIGNATION OF 2.25 ACRES OF LAND
KNOWN AS 630 CHAPEL STREET AND 673 CHAPEL STREET FROM BUSINESS BA DISTRICT TO BUSINESS BD-1 DISTRICT

CITY NOTICE—Notice of Decision

In accordance with the City of New Haven Charter, notice is hereby given of the enactment and approval of the following named ordinance:

Zoning Ordinance Text Amendment to amend the following sections of the Zoning Ordinance: (i) Section 1, in order to delete the definition of “Height” and replace it with definitions of “Height” and “Height, Average”; (ii) Section 43(b)(1) by adding the following to the table:  “**where a lot in a BD-1 District abuts an RS-1, RS-2, RM-1 or RM-2 Residence District, the maximum permitted FAR is 3.0”; (iii) Section 43(c) by adding the following as a subsection (6):  “Where a lot in a BD-1 District abuts property in an RS-1, RS-2, RM-1 or RM-2 Residence District, a maximum building or structure height of 70 feet is permitted”; and (iv) Section 45(a)(1)a.1. to provide that the parking requirement for a dwelling unit in the BD-1 District shall be the same as for a dwelling in the RH-2 District (i.e. 0.75 space per dwelling unit)

Said Ordinance APPROVED amending the text of the New Haven Zoning Ordinance to change certain definitions and to modify certain requirements in the BD-1 district regarding FAR (floor area ratio), maximum height and parking.

Said Ordinance is on file in the City Clerk’s Office, Room 204, Kennedy Mitchell Hall of Records, 200 Orange Street, New Haven, CT, where it may be inspected and copies applied for.

Said Ordinance was enacted by the Board of Alders on the 6th day of August, 2014 by a vote of 22 ayes, 0 noes and 0 abstentions and approved by the Mayor on August 25, 2014.

Said Ordinance will become effective on August 31, 2014.

WARNING FOR ALDER SPECIAL ELECTION 3rd WARD

The electors of the 3rd Ward in the town of New Haven are hereby warned to meet at their respective polling place in said town on Friday, September 5, 2014, for the purpose of casting their votes for Alder to Fill Vacancy for the 3rdWard.

Notice is hereby given that the location of the polling places is as follows:

Absentee Ballots will be counted at the following central location: Kennedy Mitchell Hall of Records, Ground Floor, 200 Orange St.

OFFICIAL NOTICE OF REPUBLICAN PRIMARY STATE OFFICES


Notice is hereby given that a Primary of the political party listed below will be held in your town on August 12, 2014 for the nomination to each office indicated below.

Notice is also hereby given that the following are the names of the party-endorsed candidates, if any, are indicated by an asterisk.  Additionally, the following are the names of all other candidates who have filed their certificates of eligibility and consent to primary or have satisfied the primary petitioning requirements in conformity with the General Statutes as candidates for nomination to each office indicated, together with the street addresses of said candidates.
